The Hill Of The Elephant Trunk In Guilin, China

If it were not a natural sculpture, perhaps it could be in competition with the bizarre world’s largest sculpture. But this, instead of having the form of Indian on horseback, is an elephant. This is the Hill of the Elephant Trunk, located south of the city of Guilin, China.
The big hill rises above the confluence of the Li and Taohua, 200 meters above sea level and measures 55 meters above the water surface of both tributaries, 108 meters long and 100 meters wide, with a mountainous area of 1.3 hectares.
The peculiarity of the pachyderm-shaped hill and the beautiful surroundings, has made the hill become a symbol of the city of Guilin, as well as a sign of many local products and of the autonomous region of ethnic Zhuang Guangxi.
In addition the site has other attractions, as compared to the Lijiang River has carved the hill outstanding works of the Tang, Song, Ming and Qing dynasties (the seventh to nineteenth centuries). There is a cave that serves as a cellar for wine Sanhuan (Three Flowers) from Guilin, one of three known wonders of the city.
And soon there will be the Wine Museum of Guilin Sanhu Hill near the Elephant Trunk, another incentive to come to this strange place.
